Youth Basketball League

Grades: 2nd – 8th grade, girls & boys
The Grayslake Park District’s Youth Basketball League is designed so all athletes have a chance to play! Players will learn basketball fundamentals, strategies, and teamwork from parent volunteer coaches. Players will practice one night a week for one hour and games will be held on Friday nights or Saturdays. Age groups may be combined, depending on the number of participants enrolled.

PLAYER EVALUATIONS
Evaluations are held at the Grayslake Central High School Fieldhouse for boys grades 3rd -8th grade on Sunday, Nov. 2 & 9. Evaluations are held at the Grayslake Rec Center Gym for 2nd grade boys and 2nd-8th grade girls on Saturday, Nov. 1 & 8. Players go through a circuit to access their skills and ability levels in shooting, dribbling, layups and passing. These scores along with the players height will be used to help develop teams. Players are encouraged to attend both dates and stay the entire time.
Each player must submit the following forms on or before November 1:
• Player Evaluation Form (completed by a parent or guardian)
• Athletic Emergency Form
• Youth Sports Code of Ethics
• Basketball Waiver & Release Form
Please note: Players will not be placed on a team until all required paperwork has been received.
