Seasonal & Part-Time Positions

Seasonal Park Laborer (Full-time position, April-November)
The Seasonal Parks Laborer (16 years or older) is responsible for supervising the seasonal parks maintenance program including: general maintenance duties, cleaning the parks grounds and buildings, operating commercial mowers, small landscape related equipment, and assisting with special functions. If you have any questions, please contact Superintendent of Parks Joe Vocke at (847) 223-7440.

Preschool Teacher (Part-time position, Mid-August through Mid-May)
Under the supervision of the Preschool Director, the preschool teacher is responsible for creating an environment that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth of participants in their classes. She/he should serve as a team member in developing creative lesson plans and implementing them in their classrooms. Download the full job description. Summer Camp Director (Part-time position, seasonal)
Seeking a qualified Camp Director (21 years or older) with extensive experience working with children, overseeing large teams, and professional communication with camp parents. Camp Directors are responsible for planning and overseeing indoor, outdoor, and aquatic activities and supervising staff. 

Summer Camp Counselors (Part-time position, seasonal)
Camp Counselors (15 years or older) lead a variety of recreation activities and provide a safe and enjoyable experience to all summer camp participants. 

Concessions Stand Supervisor (Part-time position, seasonal)
Concessions Stand Supervisor (18 years or older) oversees concessions stand staff and activities. Concessions Stand Attendants (Part-time position, seasonal)
Concessions Stand Attendants (16 years or older) must have strong people and customer service skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with staff and the public. Candidate should be able to remain alert, organized, and in control under fast-paced working conditions. Recreation Instructors (Part-time position, year-round)
We are looking for part-time recreation instructors (21 years or older) who have experience working with children 2-12 years old to help lead youth recreation programs! We are especially looking for individuals who enjoy arts & crafts, science & nature, parent & tot classes, sports, cooking, and special events. Hours are flexible! Birthday Party Leader (21 years of age or older)
Birthday Party Leaders are responsible for making the birthday parties hosted at the Grayslake Park District go off without a hitch. Birthday Party Leaders set up for birthday parties (tables and chairs), decorate the party room and set-up equipment needed for the birthday party activities. Party Leaders also lead guests in the activities, like sports, song and dance, nerf games and more! Barre Instructor
We are searching for enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic Barre Instructors for classes designed at all fitness levels. Days and hours of work will include a combination of weekday, week night and weekend hours, based on the programming needs of the District.
